Watch our 3-minute intro on the R&D Audit process

How does the US R&D Credit stack up internationally?

Here’s an article from our friends at the R&D Credit Coalition that summarizes Research and Development Incentives from other countries. They’re pulling their data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis and the Department of Commerce. Comparatively, I found this article from The Information Technology & Innovation Foundation dated April 2007. It does a good job of laying out how the US is stacking up against other innovation-oriented countries around the world.

Bottom line–incentives for innovation are not a new thing. What is (relatively) new is how the US Treasury Department has pulled the reigns in on who is awarded these incentives. The key is solid contemporaneous documentation.
